Stain Additive for water based stains to Reduce UV Damage to Wood
UV Boost is a concentrated water-based liquid stain additive that contains a new technology ultraviolet light inhibitor.
Some regions of the country such as the Southeast, Southwest and higher altitude areas are subject to high intensity sunlight. Over time the ultraviolet light in sunlight darkens the lignin component of wood.
Developed to be added to the first coat of any of PermaChink’s Lifeline water-based stains, UV Boost combines with the lignin to delay the wood beneath the stain from graying.

NOTE: Since the concentration of the active components differ, be sure to use the appropriate size for the amount of stain or finish you are using…e.g. the 1 gallon is 120ml. while the 5 gallon is 240ml with the 5 gallon being a heavier concentration.
NOTE: UV boost has been developed and tested by and on the Perma-Chink line of products. Thus, they don’t recommend with any other brand of water based finish. Saying that, we’ve not heard of anyone having a compatibility issue adding it to competitive brands. If you do, you’re on your own.
