Clean, Restore, Preserve
Preparation, Cleaning and Restoration of wood is almost an art form in itself. Don't expect your expensive chinking and finishes to perform as well, or as long, as you expect unless you have prepared the wood surface according to the finish manufacturers' recommendations. Some products clean and/or strip old finish, some lighten gray weathered wood, others protect against insect and moisture damage.
