For use on Log Homes, wood decks, and wood sided homes. This is the 'Original' blend that SaverSystems developed and has remained a favorite with many people.
DEFY Original is a high performance, water based wood finish formulated to prevent the damaging effects of water, fungi, and UV radiation on exterior wood.
- It is a V.O.C. compliant blend of natural and synthetic resins which penetrates wood pores to block out water and provide long-lasting protection from weather damage.
- The product's excellent penetration helps eliminate surface build-up and peeling, making future maintenance coats easier to apply.
Note: Due to the synthetic resins that lessen the chance of the finish itself being a "food" source for the mold and mildew, DEFY has a lower level of fungicides added that most other exterior finishes (this is why many people are comfortable using it on the interior). If you are in an extremely wet/humid environment, additional fungicide can be added.
Note: The color CLEAR provides limited UV protection. Use this color on the exterior only when you want your wood to turn silvery gray from the sun. (this applies to every "clear" exterior finish that we are aware of). This is not the same product as the DEFY UV-Resistant Wood Finish that is listed above.
Coverage: With two wet-on-wet coats, one gallon of DEFY will cover approximately 150-300 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on wood texture and porosity.
